The East Brighton Food Co-op are spreading 2021 Christmas cheer around the city, roasting the humble and nutritionally packed festive chestnut. These seasonal little beauties, help lower blood pressure, are a slow release carbohydrate, low GI; excellent for helping control diabetes and also packed with minerals and vitamins, including vitamin C those mighty B vitamins too. Roasted chestnuts are one of the healthiest seasonal snacks and meal compliments you can have, and ours are THE BEST you can get in the UK. We do not do things by halves at the EBFC! We are lucky enough to have the UK’s number 1 Chestnut Man in residence at the EBFC; if you thought you didn’t like chestnuts…think again.
19 beautiful turkeys, kindly donated by Holmansbridge Farm in Barcombe, are on their way to the EBFC kitchen in readiness for our Christmas meal service with all the trimmings. All will be cooked and delivered from our Robert Lodge Kitchen in Whitehawk on Thursday 23rd December this year. A huge thank you for all the wonderful donations of Christmas Food, Money, Gold, Frankincense or Myrrh. It’s all very greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas Everyone!
